The Caddyview V2 was the biggest surprise of our rangefinder test. Our expectations were low with a price point of under $150, but this unit held its own among all of the higher priced golf specific rangefinders. Of the 30 readings we took, there was never a miss of more than 1 yard. The average time to pick up the rangefinder, lock into the flag, and set the device back down was under 5 seconds. Optics and feel of the device are in line with the Bushnell units. The only thing missing was the jolt feature (Now an option for under $150) that gives you extra confirmation that the pin was picked up. This device is the only one that received a value rating of 100/100 at the current price of $129.99 on Amazon, along with the readings we saw, it’s a no brainer.

The thing that stands out most is the quality of this rangefinder. Most of the lower price units had a cheap feel to them. They were light, with cheap plastic, fake chrome accents, cheap feeling buttons and low tolerance view finder adjusters. The Caddyview V2 is not that type of rangefinder. It has decent weight to it, looks great, has a quality feel to the mode & power buttons, the viewfinder focus adjuster moves only when you want it to and is precise. After almost 3 years since I first got this rangefinder it has been with me for every round I’ve played. It’s still working great and has stood the test of time. This is hands down the best value I have found in a rangefinder.0

Long Term Use Review

The Caddytek Caddyview V2 Rangefinder has been in my bag for the past two years and hundreds of rounds of golf. It has seen rain and shine, been dropped out of the cart, left in the hot car, and has stood up to all of this abuse. It has a few scars to show but has never batted an eye on giving the readings I need.

I use this rangefinder alongside the Bushnell Hybrid Laser/GPS for the sole reason that I like to have the GPS built into the rangefinder. When both units are nearby, and I’m strictly looking to get a read on the flag I will grab the Caddyview V2 every time. It feels great ergonomically in my hand, it picks up the flag effortlessly, and I never have to question its accuracy.

When I have personal friends ask me which rangefinder they should by, I ask them a couple of questions: 1. “Is having a GPS important to you?”. If the answer is no, then I tell them to buy the Caddyview V2. If the GPS is important to them I ask: 2. “Are you willing to pay 2-3 times the price for it GPS?”. If the answer is yes, then I tell them to buy the latest Bushnell Hybrid Laser/GPS rangefinder, otherwise, the Caddyview V2 is the best rangefinder they can purchase.
